Three Christmases

This year we had three Christmases! Our first Christmas was just with our little family...

Opening first present with Daddy!

Beautiful morning hair!

Lightning McQueen in her stocking!

Marisa sitting by our humble tree!

Then we celebrated Christmas again with the Harts...

A cabbage patch baby!

Books!

Apparently, Kari's canned goods are more fun than new Christmas toys...haha.

Finally, we celebrated the actual Christmas with the Lobos!

All of the presents under the tree where ONLY for Marisa!

Opening her first present!

A doggy!

She LOVES doggies!

Marisa's favorite thing about the dog is when it wags its tail!

Grandma's 80th Birthday Party

Our Christmas break started by traveling to Salt Lake City for a quick weekend to celebrate Grandma Hart's 80th Birthday. It was fun to see (almost) her entire posterity in one big room. Donna Mae is a pretty special lady and we sure love her!

Grandma Hart with her children!

Grandma Hart's children with their spouses!

The grandchildren!

The grandchildren and their spouses!

Grandma Hart's great-grandchildren minus the Call kids and the Garner kids plus 5 more on the way!

You can always count on popsicles at Grandma Hart's house!

I finally caved in. I read the "vampire" book and I finished it today. Anyone want to see the movie with me?

Thanksgiving Festivities

I love getting together with family for the holidays. My brother and sister came down from BYU to join us and Tim's family for Thanksgiving this year. We did a lot of shopping, eating, laughing, and just enjoying everyone's company. One of my favorite Hart family traditions is that we eat at Ruby's on Huntington Pier for breakfast the day after Thanksgiving and shop at Huntington Surf and Sport. It is Tim's favorite store and it is the one and only day out of the whole year where Tim shops. Literally. So, the food was great, the company was great, Thanksgiving this year was great!

Riding an airplane at the Carlsbad Outlet!

Heading to storytime at the library! (Can I get this outfit in my size?)

Standing on a present by the HUGE tree at Fashion Island!

Cade and Marisa walking down the Huntington Pier after breakfast at Ruby's!

Tim trying on this hideous sweatshirt at HSS! It actually zips up all the way!

19 months old

Marisa turned 19 months old today! Absolutely crazy! We love her a ton and we are so happy that she is ours forever. Here are 19 fun facts about Marisa...

1. Marisa has the cutest girly giggle.
2. She is obsessed with shoes.
3. Marisa really enjoys watching movies.
4. Her longest sentence yet is, "This is my book, Mommy. Read it, please."
5. Her new, naughty thing to do, besides coloring walls, is to throw food off the table. She always says, "Throw nanana! Throw nanana!" (Meaning: "Throw banana"...even if it is not a banana.)
6. Whenever she says "Thank You" she always replies "Your Welcome" right after.
7. Her favorite fruit is grapes.
8. Her favorite candy is any kind of sucker.
9. Marisa loves to read. Whenever I am almost done reading a book she will say, "No, No, No, No, No!" and flip the pages to the beginning of the book so I can start reading all over again.
10. She likes to have a turn saying prayers. (A tear jerker everytime. Soo precious!)
11. She likes to say, "Bye! See ya later!" to everything she leaves behind.
12. She likes to pretend to talk on our cellphones.
13. She will sit with her arms folded during a prayer, but sometimes right before the end of a prayer she will quietly, yet quickly, dart out of the room in a run because she doesn't want to go to bed.
14. She loves being with her cousins and asks me everday to see them.
15. Marisa's favorite food is gnocchi.
16. She is pretty good at learning her colors and numbers.
17. Her favorite song to sing is the "Book of Mormon stories" song. Well, she can't sing yet, but she likes to do the motions for the song.
18. Her favorite veggie is corn.
19. And whenever her mommy says, "No" to her if she asks for something, she runs to her daddy and with the cutest little whimper says, "Daddy..." in hopes that he will give in. haha It's actually pretty cute.

18 month check-up

Marisa had her 18 month check-up today. She will be 19 months on Monday so this appointment was a little late, but nevertheless here are the results.

Weight: 26 pounds 5 ounces 70 percentile
Height: 32 1/2 inches 65-70 percentile
Head: 19 1/4 95 percentile (Never a shocker...poor baby...haha)

When she had her first ear infection not too long ago the nurse told me that she had a high pain tolerance (which she says is genetic and it is for sure not from me) because she had such a bad ear infection and wouldn't wake up in the middle of the night in pain, etc. Well Marisa proved again today that she has high pain tolerance because when she got her three shots, she didn't even cry or throw a fit. She just calmly, a litle scared you can tell, yet calmly sat on my lap. (I think she has only really cried once out of all the shots she has gotten in her life.) Good job, Marisa!

Little Miss Chatterbox

Marisa: "Hello?...ummm..." (And then jibberish follows.)

This picture was not staged.

Marisa literally called my brother, her Uncle "Ferdy", as she would say, and left a message on his voicemail all by herself. And ironically, she was wearing her Little Miss Chatterbox shirt which has a cartoon character who is on the phone and talking non-stop. All too familiar in our house...

Happy Halloween!

October has been a really busy month for us. It is that time of year again for late hours at work for Tim and our Saturdays and most of our free time has been packed with Proposition 8 volunteer work. So, because of all this, we haven't been able to take Marisa to a pumpkin patch, carve a pumpkin, eat pumpkin desserts, eat soups and other fun fall dinners, etc. this past month. Don't get my wrong, I'm not complaining because Proposition 8 is way more important. I'm just saying that all of the usual fun stuff this time of the year had to be postponed until today. So along with celebrating Halloween last night, today we celebrated the month of October by eating our Halloween candy, carving a pumpkin, baking and eating pumpkin chocolate chip cupcakes, and eating taco soup! haha

If only all bumble bees were this cute...
