Giveaway winner??

I never win anything. Never. Yet, I am still determined to win something in my life. And I recently did!
My cute little friend is expecting her first baby and she has a pretty successful blog where she writes about her journey to motherhood. I entered myself into one of her virtual baby shower giveaways and I think I won one of the best giveaways she had!

Meet Modern Bird Studios. They take a photograph of your choice and turn it into a very orginal, creative, meaningful piece of art for your house. The art is on Oak and ready to hang in your house. I won a 12x12 worth $215! Sweet huh?

I sent them this photo:

And they transformed it to this!

Isn't that so cool?
I wanted something for a future boy's room because the decor of my house and the girls' room is not exactly modern. And I wanted something with a little meaning too. Tim has a ton of license plates from all over the world and we have talked about having them hung up in our "boys" room someday. So thinking along the lines of trucks, cars, and travel, I took a picture of Marisa playing on this tractor that is on our local farm where I get my baskets full of yummy veggies and fruits every week.

What's cooler is that the painting is done by hand and a true original so Gregg signs the back. Fancy. haha
Now I would like to be greedy and win something bigger. Like a free house, lots of money, a car...you know. The usual things. haha

Happy Babies' Daddy Day

On Mother's Day, the first thing Tim said to me was, "Happy Babies' Momma Day!"
Really?
I didn't know whether I should cry or just laugh.
I didn't get a "you are an amazing mother and wife thanks for all you do", or "thanks for bearing such beautiful girls, or "I hope you feel special today." haha
Instead I get a ghetto ATL version of Mother's Day.
But, I laughed, actually. Totally Tim's humor and why I married him in the first place.

So Tim, thanks for being my babies' Daddy.

I heart

Tim: "Marisa, why are you so cute?"
Marisa: (Giggle) "Because I'm fun!"
Me: :)

I love moments like this. You know what I'm talking about. The moments when everything in this world is just perfect.

Back-up Plan, C?

"Georgie" arrived earlier than expected. I was super anxious.

To my surprise, Marisa took one long look at him, as if to see if it was really him, and with excitement shouted, "Georgie, you're back! Now I can sleep at night!"

Look at her face. Complete adoration.

This made me happy. Well, not completely happy. I'm not happy that it isn't the genuine Georgie that has been a part of our lives for what seems like forever, but I'm really happy that Marisa is happy.

That happiness was only temporary though. Tonight as Tim and I were getting Marisa ready for bed, she stood in the hallway and with the saddest voice you have ever heard, close to tears, she wimpers "I want my other Georgie."

Oh stab. Again.

Seperation anxiety

I feel totally awful that Georgie is lost. I mean, I couldn't sleep one night because of it. Honestly. I keep thinking about the darn monkey 24/7 since the day we realized he was gone, GONE.
I actually got teary-eyed when Marisa and I went back to the store where we could have lost him to look for him and left empty handed.
Georgie has been a part of our lives since Marisa was around 8 months old. Those of you who have followed my blog know very well who Georgie is. He has been there for Marisa through literally everything. And to lose him just like that! HEARTBREAKING.
I've been debating whether I should get a replacement, because let's face it, nothing can replace the real Georgie. He won't have the same saggy pjs, loose strings, loss of stuffing, chipped eye, loose hand, and permanent indention from Marisa holding him a certain way. The way she has held him from day one. The way she holds him at night.

Marisa can't sleep at night either. She asks me everyday, "But who would have taked him?" And last night she came up to Tim and I and with crocodile tears and a whimpery voice she says, "I want Georgie."

On top of that, when I tuck her in bed, give her kisses, and stare at my beautiful little girl, something is missing. When I check on her before I go to bed and see her fast asleep, the whole picture just looks wrong! Like something is missing. She doesn't have Georgie right by her face. I know, I have issues.

I have called around the stores we were at the day we lost him, I have gone to each store personally, and I have turned this house upside down. One night Marisa and I prayed to find Georgie and the next morning she told Tim at the breakfast table, "Jesus will help us find Georgie."
Oh, stab. Right in the heart.

I caved in though and ordered the same exact Georgie on Amazon yesterday. I'm pretty lucky that it is still available. I'm still not all the way ok with having a look alike, but, oh well, right? The package arrives Thursday so we will see what M says about him when he arrives.

Wanted

Have you seen him?

His name is Georgie.
He is super soft and cuddly.
He has a permanent indention in his body from his owner, Marisa, hugging him all day and night.
He is rough around the edges. (Falling pajammies, chipped eye, loose strings and stuffing.)

Last time seen: Mommy had turned around in the car to take a look at Marisa and saw her playing with the loose strings on Georgie's mouth.
The next memory before that, Marisa was last seen dancing with Georgie in her living room to Daddy's music.

As you can see, we sure miss him in this house. Especially Marisa, who asks for him everynight. Please come home Georgie. We miss you.

N at 10 months

Little Natalie has a BIG personality and it is coming out more than ever.

She has been a hard baby, but now at 10 months and finally sleeping through the night, she is just so... great! Dont' get me wrong, she still hates formula/bottle and refuses to take it, and she wakes up at 6 am every morning no matter how hard I tried to change that, and she is a very light sleeper who needs absolute darkness and silence, and extremely picky in just about everything, but she is still great. =o)

Natalie...

...is a happy baby. Everyone comments how pleasant and smiley she is. She will smile at anybody and is content to just be (when all the stars are aligned just right). ;)

...is strongwilled. Although she is a happy baby she knows what she wants and there is NO WAY around it. Period. End of story. Finito. Final answer.

...is everywhere. She loves her new found freedom and likes to explore everything around the house. And has taste-testing to a T.

....says uh-oh. Which is the cutest thing ever. It sounds more like ooh-ooh and her little lips form this perfect shaped-O. She loves to play the "drop my sippy cup over and over so I can say uh-oh and watch you pick it up everytime" game with us.

...is the biggest and best cuddle bunny ever. One time she cuddled with me in bed for 45 minutes after one of her naps. And every morning after I nurse her we cuddle for awhile.

...loves food. Real tangible food she can put in her mouth herself. Her absolute favorite- strawberries.

...loves Marisa. Those girls get into screaming matches (who can scream the loudest and longest) and laughing fests all of the time. They can crack each other up by doing the silliest things.

...has no teeth. But she is a biter. Trust me, I know. The sad/funny part is that she thinks it is funny to bite me. Also, when I tell her to give kisses to her "lamby" she bites him instead. =o)

...has the best cheesiest smile I have ever seen. When she is being silly and in a really good mood she will crunch her nose and whole face and flash the cheesiest smile you have ever seen.I.love.it. Especially right after she is done nursing in the morning, she will do the cheesy smile. Grins from ear to ear. I.love.it. That is how I start my day.

...likes to play peek-a-boo and loves to read books. She gets the biggest kick when reading about animals and the sounds they make.

...is a total momma's girl.

...laughs when I tell her "no", claps when we say, "Yay!", raises the cellphone to her ear when I say ,"Hello?", and loves to copy whatever she sees.

...loves to walk/push things.

This is the newest thing about her. She wants to walk by pushing anything that will help her do so. For example, at the store it was just me and her (Marisa was at playgroup) and she wanted to get down from the cart. (I know, at 10 months??) She pushed the shopping cart up and down the aisle and was giggling and had such a blast doing it. The funny thing is she is soooooo tiny so it looks odd when people are walking by and I am letting my seemingly 6 month old push the cart for me.

Here is a picture of her pushing an empty diaper box around the house. She cannot get enough of it.

One of my best friends said, "I can see her bossing you guys around when she is older." That pretty much sums up our little Natalie. Heaven knows we love her, but heaven help us.

4 years

Happy Anniversary, love.

Even though your teasing can get "annoying", I sure love that you can always make me laugh. I hope we keep laughing together throughout the years. I.love.you.

ER on Memorial Day

Yesterday went from this....

to this...

4 hours in the ER. 4 different meds. One rude nurse I seriously wanted to punch. And one case of Mastitis. Sweet.
